Yacht-Club Großenbrode e.V. (YCG)

The Yacht-Club Großenbrode (YCG) lies in the north-west of the Großenbroder Binnensee, right next to the larger Marina Großenbrode. The Binnensee is connected to Mecklenburg Bay through a narrow channel, which shelters the harbour from wind and swell on every side — a feature that makes it particularly attractive for weather days and longer stays on the western Baltic. Depth in the basin is around 2.2 metres, comfortably handling yachts up to roughly 14 metres in length.

The club facility offers 148 permanent berths in box widths of about 2.90 to 5.50 metres. Visiting boats use berths marked in green or are assigned by the harbour master. Power and fresh water are available at the pontoons, the sanitary building with showers and the clubhouse are just a few steps away. A fixed 8-tonne crane is operated almost daily by the harbour master, and the spacious club grounds include winter storage ashore, a BBQ area and a play and recreation space for the youngest crew members.

Großenbrode itself is a traditional Baltic town at the narrow approach to the Fehmarnsund bridge, with long sandy beaches, cycle routes and short hops to Heiligenhafen, Burgstaaken and Fehmarn. Heading east, you can reach Wismar or the Danish South Funen archipelago within a day’s sail.
