Skärhamn Small Boat Harbour

Skärhamn lies in the middle of the western side of Tjörn and was a fishing village, cargo-boat port and yachting harbour long before the word «destination» was coined. The name appears in writing as early as 1727, and during the first half of the 20th century Skärhamn was Sweden's largest home port for small cargo ships. That heritage is still here — it's a working harbour that has stayed a working harbour, even when summer visitors fill the docks.

The guest harbour is run by Skärhamns Båtförening with 130 berths and 3.5–4 metres depth, comfortable even for a large sailing cruiser. Within walking distance are shops, restaurants, pharmacy, bathing rocks and the Nordic Watercolour Museum at the waterfront. Praktiskt Båtägande readers have voted it Guest Harbour of the Year twice — recognition it carries without losing its understated Bohuslän character.
