Sailing Port of the Youth Culture House

The Sailing Port of the Youth Culture House (Port Jachtowy Młodzieżowego Domu Kultury) sits on the eastern shore of the Sulejów Reservoir, the large impoundment of the Pilica river that has been a centre of Polish inland sailing since the 1970s. The base belongs to the municipal youth centre in Tomaszów Mazowiecki and functions primarily as a training harbour for junior dinghy classes, but the slipway and short pontoons are open to visiting trailer-sailers during the summer months.

Sulejów is a freshwater reservoir surrounded by pine forest, with steady westerlies funnelling along its 17 km length — conditions that make it one of the most consistent dinghy venues in central Poland. Optimists, Lasers and small keelboats dominate the fleet. Visiting crews find a quiet, club-run atmosphere rather than a commercial marina: power and water at the pier, basic toilets ashore, and a launching ramp suitable for boats up to about 6 m.

The harbour is roughly 15 minutes by car from the centre of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, a town known for the Blue Springs nature reserve and as a stop on the Pilica river canoe trail. Trailerable cruisers heading between the Warsaw lakes and the Silesian reservoirs use Sulejów as a comfortable mid-route stopover.
