Olseng Marina

Olseng Marina sits on Ullerøy at the mouth of Skjebergkilen on the eastern shore of the outer Oslofjord, in Sarpsborg municipality. It is worth knowing in advance what the place is: a service marina rather than a guest harbour. The business is permanent berths, fuel, chandlery, workshop and winter storage — visitor berthing exists, but it is small and free, and belongs to the restaurant more than to the harbour operation.

What it does, it does usefully. The fuel dock sells both petrol and diesel, the shop is a full chandlery, and the workshop runs year-round on engine work, gelcoat and equipment fitting. On a hot July weekend in 2023 both the fuel pumps and the kiosk ran dry — the place has become a destination in its own right, not only for berth holders.

The marina changed hands in 2022, when Dahle Eiendom bought it and reopened on 13 April after a thorough refit: the shop was doubled in size, the petrol and diesel tanks cleaned and recommissioned, and the toilets rebuilt from scratch, the new accessible toilet standing where the ice-cream stand used to be. Since July 2025 Berg Marine Consulting has run the site, and the restaurant is now Brevik'n, with a sun terrace, live music and a Friday quiz.

The water around is the real reason to be here. From Skjebergkilen it is a short run out to the archipelagos off Sarpsborg, Fredrikstad, Halden and Hvaler, and on down the Swedish coast. Note the speed limit: throughout Sarpsborg municipality's sea area, five knots is the maximum within 150 metres of land, islets and skerries visible above the water.
