Öckerö Hamn

Öckerö Hamn sits on Öckerö island at the southern edge of Bohuslän and is the natural gateway to Gothenburg's northern archipelago. The yellow granite church on Öckerö is a prominent landmark on approach, and the harbour entrance has been dredged to generous depths for the commercial fleet.

This is no polished marina but a living working harbour — commercial fishermen, bunker boats, sailing schooners and leisure yachts all share the quay. The character is west-coast fishing village with active fishing, restaurants, and a modern service set-up that includes a 24/7 fuel station, 25-tonne boat lift and a washdown pad with treatment plant.

The free yellow road-ferry from Lilla Varholmen on Torslanda runs around the clock, making Öckerö accessible without a boat too. From the harbour it's a short walk to the supermarket, pharmacy, doctor and restaurants; northward lies the classic Bohuslän archipelago cruise toward Marstrand and Smögen.
