Linanäs Gästhamn

Linanäs Gästhamn lies on Ljusterö in the northern part of the Stockholm archipelago, about sixty-five kilometres north of the city. Ljusterö is the largest island in the archipelago without a bridge to the mainland, but it is easy to reach: the car ferry between Östanå and Ljusterö runs around the clock, takes seven minutes and is free.

The harbour sits in Linanäs, the island\'s largest settlement. It is a small guest harbour — the operator says "20+" berths, while other sources range from ten to forty, so expect a modest place and ask the harbour host on arrival. Depth is also reported differently from source to source, so speak to the harbour if you draw deep. The harbour host listens on VHF channel L1 or 16, and the chart is number 612.

One thing worth knowing in advance: the Waxholmsbolaget scheduled boats between Stockholm, Vaxholm, Linanäs and Väsbystrand call at a quay only fifty metres from the harbour, so there is regular passenger-ferry traffic close by. The outer part of the harbour is also exposed in fresh westerlies — pick your berth for the weather.

In return it is one of the better resupply stops in this part of the archipelago. There is fuel on the quay — petrol, diesel, alkylate and LPG — and the shop carries groceries plus agencies for both Systembolaget and the pharmacy, which is not everyday fare on a bridgeless island. Pump-out is free and available around the clock. There are three toilets, one of them accessible.

The restaurant on the quay is called Linanäsbryggan and is run by the same company as the harbour, which took the site over in 2022. The Linanäsbadet bathing place, with changing room and toilets, is a couple of hundred metres away, and bus 626 from Danderyd hospital stops right by the harbour.
