Lemvig Marina
Lemvig Marina lies behind a stone mole at Vinkelhage on the north shore of Lem Vig: three pontoon rows, sailing-club run since 1977, and the Planet Path into town.

Description
Lemvig Marina sits at Vinkelhage on the north shore of Lem Vig, the innermost arm of the Limfjord west of Oddesund. The basin is cut in behind a stone mole that shields it from the east, and three rows of pontoons divide it between roughly 150 resident boats. Just east of the mole's southern end lies a shoal that the local racing fleet reminds itself about most seasons.
The marina opened on 14 May 1977, when Lemvig Sejlklub — founded in 1922 — moved out here from the town harbour. Lemvig Municipality owns the place and the sailing club runs it day to day, which shows: club members are on the pontoons for most of the summer, and the Tuesday evening races head out through the inlet towards the marks off Kabbel and in Gjeller Krog.
The setting is closer to holiday coast than working port. North of the mole the Vinkelhage beach runs along the shore with its bathing jetty; to the west lie a campsite and a holiday centre, and behind them the fairways of Lemvig Golf Club climb the meltwater valleys the ice age cut down towards the fjord. The rowing club has its house a little further in.
The walk into town follows the Planetsti, a model of the solar system at a scale of one to a billion. Saturn stands just west of the rowing club and the sun sits in the bend at Vesterbjerg, where the view opens across Lem Vig. On the way you pass the Museum of Religious Art and Lemvig Museum, which keeps the study of the poet Thøger Larsen and the room where the cartoonist Gantriis drew Livets gang i Lidenlund.
Lemvig has held market-town rights since 1234, but it only became a sailing town in earnest after the storm surge of 1825 broke through Agger Tange and joined the Limfjord to the North Sea. The town's own harbour lies at the head of the inlet, and plenty of visitors make the trip in. The marina is where you go to lie still — out by the mouth of the inlet, looking at water rather than at quay wall.
