Bootshaus Kainz

Right in the centre of Regensburg, on the left bank of the Danube just downstream of the sport-boat lock, the Kainz family runs one of the best-known boat houses on the upper Danube. The compact facility on Woehrdstrasse sits only half a kilometre from the Stone Bridge and the UNESCO-listed old town - few skippers can step ashore and be in a medieval city centre that quickly.

The 25 berths spread across floating jetties, dolphin boxes, mooring buoys and land berths and take boats up to 15 metres. Eight shore-power columns, a fresh-water tap and a diesel pump with bottled-gas exchange cover daily needs, while sanitary facilities, a washing machine, a tumble dryer and Wi-Fi make longer stays comfortable. Bilge and black-water pump-out and segregated hazardous-waste disposal round off the environmental side.

On site you will find a boatyard, a travel lift and a slipway with winch, plus motor service for Mercury, Honda and Mercruiser, a sailmaker and a well-stocked chandlery. For Danube cruisers between Kelheim and Passau, Kainz is one of the few stopovers with complete infrastructure - well suited for a short stop, a repair or wintering at the heart of Bavaria.
