Marinas in Denmark

Denmark has roughly 350 active marinas — from the large international harbours at Helsingør, Marselisborg and Vejle to the small natural harbours of the South Funen Archipelago and Limfjorden. NorDok covers the North Sea coast (tidal range 2-3 m), Kattegat, Øresund, Great Belt and the Smålandsfarvandet. Always check depth and surface current before crossing the major straits — currents in Storebælt and Øresund can exceed 1 m/s.

Marinas in Sweden

Sweden has approximately 1,500 marinas along its long coastline — from the Bohuslän archipelago with Smögen, Strömstad and Marstrand, through the Gothenburg bight and up to the Stockholm archipelago. South of there sits Karlskrona, Visby on Gotland and the Baltic coast. Tides are modest in most areas; weather and waves from the Skagerrak are the main concern for the leg round Skagen.

Marinas in Norway

Norway's coast stretches 25,000 km and offers everything from city marinas (Stavanger Vågen, Bergen Bryggen, Tromsø) to remote fjord harbours surrounded by steep mountains. Tidal range is significant on the Atlantic coast (2-3 m), while the Skagerrak shore around Oslo and Kragerø sees minimal tide. Marinas in Germany

The German Baltic coast is popular with Scandinavian sailors as a stepping stone to Poland and the Baltic states. Kiel Fjord, Travemünde, Heiligenhafen, Warnemünde, Stralsund and Greifswald all offer well-equipped guest harbours with Nordic-grade facilities. Tides are negligible; storm-surge warnings are the key weather factor and should be checked before every crossing.

What makes a good marina?

The criteria that matter most: enough depth for your boat at low water, a guest berth with power and water within reach, clean toilet and shower facilities, and shelter in every wind direction. NorDok surfaces each of these on every marina page so you can assess before you arrive.
