Description
Sørup Havn sits on Esrum Sø — Denmark's most water-rich lake — and is a small nature-area facility owned by Naturstyrelsen Nordsjælland and operated since 1998 by Sørup Havns Bådelav. It is a pure freshwater setting: day sailing, angling and a gathering point for rowing and sailing clubs.
The lake is run with restricted navigation — 5 knots, wake-free and additional rules from Naturstyrelsen. The harbour has simple jetties suited to smaller craft, dinghies, rowing and sailing boats, and lies between the old houses of Sørup village with protected nature on all sides.
The facilities are deliberately minimal: toilet, BBQ and slipway. Parking by the harbour is good. The harbour is for members of the bådelav, but a short waiting list exists for keelboat berths; dinghy and shore spots are usually available.
